Itineraries

Arrival day

Salaam and welcome to Shiraz, the charming city of history, culture, poetry and gardens. You will be transferred to your hotel, and after taking a rest your Shiraz city tour will start by visiting the Nasir al Molk Mosque (also known as the Pink Mosque) and enjoying its mysterious and colorful light shining through the stained glass windows. Then walk to Narenjestan Garden and Palace, which was the house of Qavam a political figure during the Qajar Dynasty (19th century). Continue your city tour by walking through the Vakil Bazaar, which was built during the Zand Dynasty, when Shiraz was the capital of Iran. In the afternoon you’ll visit the botanical Eram Garden and hear about the Persian Garden's design, which is registered as a UNESCO world heritage site. Then visit the Mausoleum of Hafez, the world reknown Iranian poet, and enjoy hearing some of his poems.

The Achaemenid Day

Start your road trip towards Yazd early in the morning (440 km). On the way visit Persepolis the most important historical site of Iran, the showpiece of Achaemenid architecture dating back to 518 B.C and be amazed by its palaces, bass reliefs and epigraphies. Then visit Naqsh-e Rostam (Necropolis), the rock tombs of Persian kings and bass reliefs dating back to the Sassanid Empire. After stopping to visit Pasargadae and the tomb of Cyrus, the great Achaemenid king, continue to Yazd. All the ancient Achaemenid legacies you visit today are UNESCO world heritage sites. After your hotel check in, you can join your guide for a short walking tour in the old quarter of the city and visit Amir Chakhmaq Square.

Yazd city tour

Yazd is a desert city with an old quarter and distinctive architectural style, which is listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO. You will explore it in the morning. Then visit the Tower of Silence the burial place of the Zoroastrians – the followers of one of the oldest monotheistic religions in the world - and take a look at the Fire Temple of the Zoroastrians. In the afternoon take a look at the fabulous 14th century Jaame Mosque of Yazd and the lush Dowlat Abad Garden.

Yazd to Isfahan

Drive to Isfahan via Naein (323 km). Visit the Friday Mosque of Naein, which is one of the oldest mosques in Iran. Arriving in Isfahan, visit the visit the UNESCO listed Jaame Atiq Mosque, and then explore the Vank Cathedral and the Armenian quarter in this city which was the capital of Iran during the Safavid Kingdom (16th – 17th century), Iran’s golden time in art and architecture. Finish your tour by visiting two of the glorious bridges, Khaju and Si-o Se Pol crossing over the Zayandeh River in the evening and meeting the locals who gather on these bridges to sing traditional songs.

The Safavid Day

Today You are going to explore the legacies of the Safavid Dynasty in the city of Isfahan. First you will visit the Ali Qapu Palace, which is a six story building with the most amazing interior ornaments and paintings. Take a look at the royal Naqsh-e Jahan Square from the top of Ali Qapu and then visit the fascinating Sheikh Lotfollah and the Jaame Imam Mosque to get acquainted with the architecture of Iranian mosques. Then walk around Naghsh-e Jahan Square to see the handicraft bazaar of Isfahan. The whole Naqsh-e Jahan Square and monuments around are UNESCO world heritage sites. Finish your day by visiting the Chehel Sotun Garden and viewing the great paintings inside its pavilion. This is another garden among the collection of Persian Gardens protected by UNESCO.

Check out of your hotel before 12:00 and get transferred to Isfahan INTL Airport for your flight back home. In case your flight is from Tehran please inform us and you will get a transfer to the IKA INTL Airport in Tehran.
