Kish is an island in Hormozgan province off the southern coast of Iran in Persian Gulf. The area of the island is 91.5 square km. Kish was planned to be a luxurious private resort island by the last king of Iran Mohammad Reaza Pahlavi. Kish is also a free-trade zone and foreign travelers are allowed to stay in this island without Iran visa up to 14 days, meaning that even if you cannot make it to the mainland, you can still hop over to Kish to get a taste of Persian hospitality.
Kish has a very dry semi-equatorial climate. The relative atmospheric humidity in Kish makes it like a sea island except in cold seasons. The humidity is approximately 60% for most of the year, so the best months to visit are between November and March.
Kish is a wonderful place for water sports, from parasailing to scuba diving, wake-boarding to jet skiing, Kish has it all. And duo to its modern shopping malls it is a very popular shopping destination among Iranians. Beaches are coral and you can experience watching an unforgettable sunrise and sun set on the shores.
Kish also has a 75 km-long bike path snakes all around the island and is independent of car roads, making for a scenic and especially easy way to find secluded beaches and stop at your leisure to take pictures against the picturesque backdrop of the Persian Gulf’s lazuline water.
There are some historical monuments in the Island including Harireh ancient city which dates back to 11th century or Kariz underground city.
